This room used to be twice the size before we knocked the wall down and reduced it to extend the bathroom. It also used to have a bizarre sink in the corner of the room that we quickly got rid of and looked like a student halls of residence room that had been used for thirty years.
The room was initially revamped to become the study until we discovered we’d be needing a nursery so we’re currently turning the old kitchen into a new study (to be completed in August). This meant that this room could be ready for Magnus’ arrival. And it turned out that we only just finished it in time thanks to his arrival two and a bit weeks’ early.
We wanted to go bright and bold with colours but had already got a rabbit and print as a Christmas present from a gorgeous shop in Keswick called Temporary Measure which we first discovered on honeymoon. Neither matched any bright colours so that set us onto good old baby blue for the paint.
I was going to go for fairy lights to give some light to the room at night but then spotted this bird house wall light on Etsy which is stunning. Mum made us some bunting to match (which Magnus has managed to aim a projectile wee at already at less than two weeks old!) and the cot turns into a day bed so should be useful for years to come hopefully.
Here are some pics:
