As we were moving the kitchen to the other end of the house and building a snug eating area into it (as well as the fact that we don’t tend to have eight people or more around for formal dinner parties every week) we didn’t really need a dining room.

We knew that the very first task we wanted to do as soon as got the keys for the house was to rip up a horrible flea-ridden blue carpet in the front bedroom. The photo from the sales brochure below hides quite a fetching blue velvet headboard that had also been attached to the wall.

The bathroom was one of the worst rooms in the house when we bought it. It was tiny, the shower leaked everywhere, it was a horrid yellow, with an old broken mirror and tiles falling off the wall. Continue reading

The main change we wanted to make when we bought the house was to turn the two stables into a new kitchen by knocking through from the lounge.
